Details: Summary of Position:The Transportation Analyst performs the day to day activities that help manage the transportation function including reporting and analysis that enables the Customer Logistics group to provide the best possible service to our customers, both external and internal, at the lowest possible cost. Authority:The Transportation Analyst is empowered to make decisions regarding:Freight bill approval up to $2,000 per invoice.Selection of the most effective carrier and mode for emergency or expedited shipments.Shipping of hazardous materials (finished goods). Resolution of frustrated shipments with carriers.Freight class assignment.The transportation component of product cost input thru the PIR functionDevelopment, documentation and maintenance of carrier routing requirements within SAP. Responsibility:The Transportation Analyst is responsible for:Completion of assigned analysis projects and the distribution of the monthly Logistics Performance Review.Support in developing and reporting transportation and warehousing key performance indicators.Partnering with the Finance and Logistics Manager to report monthly freight accruals. Processing of any exception freight bills.Processing of freight loss and damage claims with carriers.Completion of monthly reports for the transportation and warehousing functions.Routing assistance to distribution centers, customer service, vendors, and corporate staff.No direct reports. Essential Duties:Aggressively support the Company’s culture and its business mission.Analyze freight payment data and provide summary reports that highlight key opportunities for improvement.Perform carrier evaluations or scorecards (including safety, service, claims and cost) to use in review meetings and future contract negotiations.Evaluate Henkel’s distribution practices and make recommendations on freight costs under various “what if” scenarios.Support the reporting and analysis of order profile data, warehouse cost savings opportunities and logistics continuous improvement initiatives.Analyze customer shipment patterns and suggest different transportation alternatives available.Assist with the analysis of customer specific freight and warehousing cost.Assist in assembling and evaluating carrier bid proposals.In conjunction with Strategic Sourcing, evaluate and suggest transportation alternatives that enable Henkel to procure product at the lowest cost.Analyze current processes as they relate to transportation/warehousing and suggest alternative methods where appropriate. (i.e., claim filing, new item setup) to improve customer service and or reduce cost. Performance Measurements:Completion of assigned analysis and projects by required date.Timely completion and signoff of PIR form for new items.Timely collection/resolution of freight claims.Error free shipment of hazardous materials (finished goods).Logistics cost and budget performance.Carrier performance against contracted agreements and standards. Minimum Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics or other related field.2 - 3 years experience in the transportation industry focused on the movement of LTL, truckload and small package freight.Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.Excellent analytical and computer application skills including data modeling capabilities.Outstanding organizational and time management skills.Strong negotiating skills and a detail oriented self starter with a demonstrated ability to meet reporting deadline requirements.Previous experience using SAP is preferred.Henkel Corportion is an equal opportunity employerMinority/Female/Disabled/Veteran
